Intercultural Understanding at Quarry Bay School

As an IB World School, Quarry Bay is in support of the mission statement of the International Baccalaureate:

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

The Quarry Bay School community was asked to express its understanding of Intercultural Understanding in one word. The words chosen by the community are shown in the Wordle below:

These words have been used to define Quarry Bay School’s intercultural understanding:

The Quarry Bay School community believes the foundation of  intercultural understanding is respect. Through understanding others, we are tolerant and open-minded towards others. We recognise and celebrate the cultures, beliefs and values that exist in our diverse world. We build a community of harmony, understanding and acceptance.
