Key dates for next week
- Monday the 1st of May – Public holiday (Labour Day)
- Wednesday the 3rd of May- Public Holiday (Buddha’s Birthday)
- Thursday the 4th of May – Year 1 Parent Teacher Consultations
1H and 1M shared an enjoyable class assembly about living things. It was great to welcome parents. We were proud of the Year 1 students and their growing confidence when performing. Giving students opportunities to perform is valued at QBS and it is always a boost for students when parents are in the audience.
QBS Year Book
Please be reminded that entries for the QBS Year Book cover close next Friday. We hope to see many entries from students for this important memento of your child’s year at school.
Chinese International School (CIS) Field Renovation
This week the CIS field closed for renovation. This is the field located at the end of the Hau Yuen Path cul-de-sac. The renovation work is extensive and will take place from May through until late August. Staff have been liaising with CIS to understand the implications for QBS. Any noisy work will be taking place outside of school hours so as not to disturb learning of students. It is anticipated that there might be disruptions to traffic at times. These disruptions to traffic will be avoided during the peak drop off and pick up times.
School Shoes and Sports Shoes
Correct footwear is to be worn with the QBS school uniform. The required footwear can be seen in the photographs below.
Please click here to visit the QBS website to view the shoes and socks required at school (you will need to click on uniform at the bottom of the page to view the images). Socks must be ankle length please.
Parental cooperation is needed with all aspects of daily uniform. Please support this school expectation with your child so that uniform standards at QBS remain high.

Term 3 After School Activities & Change of Bus Travel Arrangement
Unfortunately we still have many parents who do not inform the PTA if their child/ren have after school activities or a change in afternoon travel arrangements on the buses. The above results in a delay in departure of the buses from school, while the PTA staff, principals, teachers and staff of the school is looking for the missing students.
We therefore request your cooperation to notify us before 12:30pm on a normal school day, and 10:00am on an early school closure day, for change in travel arrangement of your child. This procedure is imperative and in the best interest and safety of your child.
(Parents are requested to inform PTA via email at firstname.lastname@example.org as well as copying the message to the class teacher/school before 12:30pm.)
