ESF Hong Kong Run

Congratulations to all QBS students, staff and parents for their efforts last weekend at the ESF Hong Kong Run. It was a nice ESF community event. QBS was well represented at the event and won the prize for highest school participation. Well done to Ms Mutter (1M) for winning the title of fastest ESF female staff member and her age category. QBS also won the prize for best dressed family – congratulations to the Fung family for their creative and fun outfits! On Friday we held a whole school assembly to celebrate QBS community’s participation and success in last weekend’s race. Mr Schroder and Mr Leone have started regular training sessions with students so that their fitness and endurance continues to develop.

Kung Hei Fat Choi and Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Thank you to all of the students and staff involved in the Chinese New Year Assembly on Thursday. Everyone was brightly dressed to celebrate and enjoyed a fantastic assembly. This assembly gave students an opportunity to showcase Chinese language, dance and music. One of the many highlights was the QBS Lion and Dragon Dance by the students along with a beautiful musical performance by the QBS Chinese Orchestra. The assembly was a wonderful celebration of Chinese culture. The QBS Mandarin Team worked very hard with the students during after school clubs and lunch breaks to create a varied performance.

I would like to wish everyone in the QBS community a very Happy Chinese New Year and prosperous Year of the Pig. Have a lovely Chinese New Year holiday with your family. I look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday the 12th of February. Staff will have a training day on Monday the 11th of February and school is closed to students on this day.

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Regards

After School Clubs Supervision – Important Safety Message

There is no playground supervision of children by staff after school finishes.

Students waiting for clubs must have an adult with them, both before the club starts and until it finishes. These students need to be actively supervised by the adult (parent, grandparent, driver or helper).

The adult who is supervising the child must be in the quiet area at the front of the school, and must know the child’s whereabouts at all times.

Students cannot play football, downball , basketball or use school sports equipment after school.

If your child does not participate in any after school activity, they are to go home immediately after the end of the school day. Only children in clubs should remain after school and this is going to be monitored in the future. Parents will be contacted if unsupervised children are left at school or supervision is not adequate.

This is for the safety and well being of your children. Thank you for your support.
