QBS 2016/2017 calendar

Please click here to view the QBS calendar for next academic year. All public holidays have now been gazetted by the Government.

I am proud of QBS. It is a wonderful school community full of happy and positive children and interested and supportive parents. I am blessed to work alongside such a professional and dedicated group of staff. It is such a privilege to do my job and be a part of your child’s life. I was delighted to learn that our Year 6 students’ InCAs results were again very, very strong in the ESF.

Over the summer I will be on my family’s farm in Australia and on the beach. I plan to enjoy time with my husband and two daughters. I am also secretly looking forward to my Mummy’s cooking too!

I wish all those students, parents and staff leaving QBS happiness and success for the future.

Stay safe over the summer break and I will see you all in August. Enjoy the staff dance – we have a long way to go if we want to make it onto Dancing With The Stars.

Regards,

MinaD2

Final Message from the PTA Chairman

Michelle SaadDear Parents, Carers and Members of the QBS Community,

As the school year comes to a close, we sadly farewell our Year 6 Students and wish them all the best in their new endeavours as they enter Secondary School. I would like to thank all departing parents and students for their support during their time at Quarry Bay School.

This year has been both a rewarding and successful one for the PTA, and I am pleased to announce that last week, our final $200,000 contribution completing our pledged $2.5million donation for the School Building Renovation Project was made.

This significant milestone, along with all the PTA’s accomplishments throughout the academic year, could not have been achieved without the very generous amount of time our volunteers give to assist the PTA, enabling our events to be a successful and enjoyable experience for the whole QBS Community.

I would personally like to extend a very big thank you to our dedicated and extremely hardworking PTA Executive Committee and Staff, QBS Teachers and Support Staff, as well as our Parent and Student Volunteers, whose support and contribution has been greatly appreciated and paramount in the success of each and every event held.

On behalf of the PTA and myself, I wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable summer break.

Kind Regards,

Michelle Saad
PTA Chairman

Mr Glencross’ Secret Salad Dressing

A few of the mothers of year 3 have contacted Mr Glencross in regard to what the recipe he used to make the salad dressing as their children really enjoyed the salad and many of their kids will not eat salad. Here is the receipt for sharing:

50 ml Olive Oil
50 ml Balsamic Vinegar

1 Clove of Garlic
Dash of pepper and salt

PTA SUBSCRIPTION FEES 2016/2017

Since the inception of the ESF Ordinance (2008) – all parents have been required to join and become members of their child’s School PTA.

To facilitate ease of payment of the PTA subscription fees, parents can now pay this fees together with the bus fees as stated on the bus application form. This fee is a one fee per family annual payment.

In the event that you do not subscribe to the school bus service you will be required to send a cheque to ESF centre directly, upon receiving their invoice in June.

We will liaise closely with ESF to avoid duplicate receipt of payment. All duplicate payments will be refunded back to the parents.

A drop-box is available in the PTA Office, during office operation hours, to collect the PTA Fees which will be periodically sent to ESFC.
