Principal’s Comments

Key dates for the week of 26th February:

  • Monday the 5th of March – Year 6 DPTP Vaccinations
  • Tuesday the 6th of March – Parent Teacher Consultations (School closure at 12:00 noon)
  • Friday the 9th of March at 9 am – Class assembly (2R/2G) for parents (To view the Class Assembly rota, please click here)

It has been a busy first week back in school. Students have settled quickly into routines again after their holiday break. I have enjoyed having the students back at school and have spent most of my week in the classrooms with a particular focus on Maths lessons.

It was good to welcome Year 3 and Year 4 parents to school for Athletics Days during the week. Thank you for supporting the events. The students are always so excited when parents come to school and the atmosphere during both Athletics Days was happy and positive. The year on year physical improvements were pleasing to observe. Well done to all of the Year 3 and Year 4 students for their effort. Thank you to Mr Schroder and Mr Leone for their continued development of students through PE units of learning.

Parents joined students and staff for the Chinese New Year Assembly to finish the week. The assembly was a showcase of the learning from various clubs and was enjoyed by all. Well done to all of the students involved. Thank you to the Mandarin Team, Ms Hill and Mrs McGraw for the commitment to students in the lead up to the assembly performances.

We said goodbye to Mrs Mona Diwan this week. Mona was the PTA Coordinator at QBS. A farewell morning tea was hosted by the PTA for Mona, staff and committee members. Mona was presented with a gift and flowers for her loyal service and commitment to the QBS community. Mona will be missed by everyone at QBS and we wish her every success in the future.

Please click here to read an email sent to all families earlier in the week about the QBS bus service.

Next week we look forward to welcoming parents into school for parent teacher consultations. Please note that school will close for students at 12.00 noon on Tuesday the 6th of March to allow the start of 1-1 meetings between parents and teachers.

Regards,
MinaD2
