- Friday the 3rd of November at 9 am – Class assembly (2T/2F) for parents (To view the Class Assembly rota, please click here)
5A and 5V did a wonderful job sharing ways to solve conflicts during their class assembly on Friday. The students used a range of great music from The Beatles to tell stories. Well done 5A and 5V and thank you to all the parents for supporting the students. It was an enjoyable assembly.
It was good to welcome so many parents to school on Tuesday for the Year 1 Athletics Day. The students tried very hard at all of the stations and enjoyed the experience. Mr Schroder and Mr Leone did a great job coordinating the event. QBS students really enjoy having their parents visit school and Tuesday was an impressive turnout by the parents. The Year 1s were particularly excited about it all so thank you parents for being at school.
I am very proud to say our QBS boys football team won the DBIS Football Tournament on Wednesday at King’s Park. The competition was high and our boys played extremely well to come home with the trophy. Well done to our second boys team and the girls team for their efforts at the tournament.
Next week the Year 4 students will be out of school on their first residential camp at Cheung Chau. I am joining the 4G and 4T students for the later part of the week and am looking forward to the experience with them. I would encourage Year 4 parents to have their children well-rested for next week as it is a very busy and tiring schedule on Cheung Chau. Thank you to all staff attending for their involvement in this important experience. Sue Yee (Vice Principal) will be Acting Principal on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday when I am at Year 4 camp.
I am pleased to introduce support staff colleagues. These colleagues joined QBS this academic year and work in various supporting roles in classrooms and across the school. Please click here to read their introductory messages and extend a welcome to them when you meet them in school.
Finally, thank you to all the QBS families for being involved in the ESF birthday marathon. I was presented with a trophy for QBS last Sunday because we had the highest number of student participants across all ESF schools. Mr Schroder and Mr Leone were very pleased to hear this news!
Athletics Events
It was great to see so many parents supporting the Year 1 and 2 Athletic Events over the last couple of weeks. Your support helps to create an environment in which children feel comfortable and confident to show their skills and feel proud of their achievements.
There are a couple of short video’s linked on the Qoodle homepage which you may view. Further photos will be shared soon, with all Year 1 and 2 families.
ESF Marathon
The ESF 50th Marathon event last Saturday was a huge success and it was wonderful to run with so many teachers, parents and students on the day.
Quarry Bay School were thrilled to find out at the awards ceremony that we had been awarded the ‘most participation award’ having over 180 families competing. The trophy is now travelling around the school, and spending a day in each classroom.
We also had an individual award which went to Harry (3K) who finished in 2nd place in the Year 3 and 4 boys category.
DBIS Football Tournament
Congratulations to all 3 QBS football teams who took part at the DBIS Football Tournament at Kings Park. The players gave it their all and can be proud of their personal and collective performances in such a large tournament (168 teams!).
A special mention to the Boys A team who topped their group and managed to defeat Kowloon Junior and Canadian International in the knockout stage to lift the tournament trophy. An outstanding achievement.
