QBS Netball Team

Congratulations to our netballers on their win at this week’s tournament. They were undefeated in their games and are the winners of the HKPSSA Island Schools Netball Tournament. All of the team members were recognised by all for their achievement on assembly. For more details about the tournament please see the message below.

Uniform

The weather has turned cooler this week. All students are expected to wear QBS/ESF school uniform. Uniform standards at QBS are high and it is an expectation that students are dressed in the correct items of uniform daily. All uniform can be purchased online and delivered to your home. The link for uniform purchase is: www.schooluniform.hk. Coloured/white long-sleeved t-shirts are not permitted under school shirts. Vests worn under uniform should not be visible please. Thank you for your continued cooperation.

Hau Yuen Path

Currently all emergency vehicle access to Hau Yuen Path is seriously obstructed during pick up time at the end of the school day. If there was an emergency or critical incident at QBS, the traffic congestion would pose serious site access challenges to ambulance, fire or police service vehicles. This is a significant issue for QBS. As you will appreciate the well-being and safety of our students is the priority. The problem is also shared by the Chinese International School (CIS) community. In recent months significant time has been spent looking for solutions. Regular meetings have been held with representatives of the Hong Kong Police, transport department, CIS and QBS. These meetings have focused upon long-term solutions to reduce traffic congestion and improve emergency vehicle access in Hau Yuen Path on weekday afternoons. In future changes to current signage and regulations related to parking in Hau Yuen Path may occur. If these changes take place it will impact on drivers currently parking in Hau Yuen Path. The investigation into a long-term solution to Hau Yuen Path traffic congestion and emergency vehicle access continues and further updates will be provided.

Island Netball Champions

The QBS Netball team competed at the HKPSSA Island Championships in Aberdeen Courts on Wednesday. They played 7 matches against Peak, Kellet, GSIS, Kennedy, Bradbury, French and Glenealy schools.

The girls performed brilliantly and were crowned the HKPSSA Island Undefeated Champions. The girls surpassed all expectations and we are so proud of them.

We wish the team the best of luck for the HKPSSA All Schools Championships to be held at Harrow International School on the 1st December.

Student Preferred Names

Parents have an option in Gateway to put in a student’s preferred name. This is the PREFERRED FIRST NAME that they would like to be known as in school. Please do not put your child’s family name in this field. This field does not need to be completed. The preferred name is reflected in the school attendance register, class lists and online resources but not official school progress reports. Some of our resources may not reflect changes until the following school year.

QBS Parent Directory

Parents wishing to share their contact details with other QBS parents to facilitate play dates etc should complete the e notice before 23rd November. This is optional. As the contact list is not dynamically linked to the Gateway family information, we will be unable to make additions or changes after 23rd November until next school year when a new enotice is sent.

School Photos

The photographer will be in school on Thursday 29th November to take photos for the teams, new students/staff as well as absentees. Please click here for details.

Organising teachers will inform the students to be involved.
