Principal’s Comments
It has been a busy week at QBS and really feels as though we’ve all been back for more than ten school days. I am pleased to inform you that the students have settled into new learning routines with their teachers. Our Year 1s will have their first day of school together as a full cohort next week.
Here is a short movie from some of the students about being back at QBS after the summer.
Thank you for supporting us at the Meet the Teacher evening. We hope you found it informative and helpful at this early stage of the year. The teacher presentations are available on Qoodle if you need to access them. Please also note that class timetables are now available on Qoodle for parents.
May I remind all parents to refer to the important dates at QBS by clicking here.
Recently, a thought provoking newspaper article was shared with me. It was about the development of responsibility, self-management and how tools such as WhatsApp might diminish these life skills for students if adults organise for them too much. Please click here if you are interested in this article.
Regards,

Parents as Partners
Siu Sai Wan Housing for the Elderly
At Quarry Bay School, we want our students to believe that they really can make a difference. We are lucky enough to be in a partnership with the Siu Sai Wan Housing for the Elderly (part of the Helping Hands Charity Group) and have enjoyed developing a friendship with them over the last year. From singing some songs, performing shows, reading together, sharing our work and even hosting a tea party, the students and staff have grown very fond of our friends and are looking forward to continuing with this connection within our community. We have had a wonderful team of parents and staff supporting this work to ensure we can easily communicate and take care of our visitors. If you would like to be part of a group of parents (and speak Cantonese or Mandarin) to support our school with this connection, please contact me directly: mona.abidi@qbs.edu.hk
