These colleagues are working as full time education assistants. Miss Amy Yeung has joined the Office Team and is assisting with finance and human resources. Mr Simon Chu has been working as the school’s Caretaker for several months. I am pleased to introduce these new colleagues to you all. Please read their introductions.
Traffic in Hau Yuen Path
Cars parked along the footpath in Hau Yuen Path and in the lay-by where QBS buses park up at the end of the school day, do not help the safe dismissal of our student body. I am sorry to report that it seems to be some QBS parents or drivers parking cars in these places and hindering the safety of others. Please be thoughtful when driving in Hau Yuen Path at the end of the school day.
Welcome Back To QBS Evening
It was wonderful to welcome so many parents and carers to our Welcome Back to QBS evening last night (Thursday 23rd August). The purpose of the event was to enable parents/carers the opportunity to meet their child’s teacher. During this time parents/carers were also able to view their child’s class and find out how they can provide support at home. Prior to the classroom sessions the leadership team provided a brief welcome presentation in the hall. Key messages were provided about the upcoming academic year at QBS, the school’s teaching and learning principles, the safeguarding of students and the promotion of positive behaviour expectations.
Please note that slides used by each year group and the LMT will be shared with parents/carers next week. This will enable the presentation slides from the Specialist Information Evening to be shared at the same time.
Our Specialist Teacher Information Evening will take place next Wednesday between 6.30-7.30pm.

Michael Carr-Gregg parent sessions – Raising Happy and Resilient Young People
This presentation focuses on prevention and on what modern psychological science says parents can do to build happy and resilient young people. It would be suitable for parents of Year 5 and above or those who want to prepare early.
Presented by Australia’s highest profile child and adolescent psychologist, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg this entertaining and informative session will equip parents with the skills, knowledge and evidence based strategies to help young people successfully tackle the developmental tasks of adolescence and to put in place the protective factors that reduce the chances of them developing any of the high prevalence disorders.
