Next week the Year 4 students will attend their first camp on Cheung Chau Island and staff are looking forward to taking the students on this residential trip. I will visit the 4G and 4S students next Tuesday on camp.

This week two successful athletics days were held for the Year 1 and Year 2 students. The parental support for these events was appreciated by staff and students. We finished the week with a clever assembly by 6T and 6B about government systems. It has been another positive week of learning at QBS.

Thank you to the hard working PTA committee for arranging a very enjoyable market evening as part of the AGM. The AGM provided an opportunity to publicly thank parents for their continued support and contribution to our school community. The work of all committee members is valued at QBS.

QBS Annual Report 2017/2018

Each year the annual report is prepared for the ESF Board. The 2017/2018 report was approved by the QBS School Council at the October meeting. The report provides a broad summary of the successes and achievements from the 2017/2018 academic year. Please click here to find a copy of the annual report. It can be found in the school documents section of Gateway.

Uniform

Please be reminded that QBS/ESF school uniform items must be worn now the weather has turned cooler. Non uniform coats, jackets or trousers are not permitted. Uniform standards at QBS are high and students are expected to wear appropriate uniform items to school in all seasons. Hair ties, clips or headbands are to be black or blue only.

All uniform items can be ordered and purchased online from the supplier. This is the link to QBS/ESF uniform: www.schooluniform.hk

Smart Watches

There have been increasing numbers of students wearing smart watches to school. These devices are considered to be similar to a mobile phone which are not permitted to be used at school. The suitability of a smart watch for school is currently under review. More details will follow about smart watches in the near future.

QBS on Facebook

Please be reminded that QBS Facebook page is the school’s main social media platform. If you you haven’t done so already, you can follow QBS learning at https://www.facebook.com/QBSchool

We hope parents enjoy taking a peek into daily learning and life at QBS via this social media platform.

Thank You Letter to Year 1 and 2 Parents

Dear Year 1 and Year 2 Parents,

It was great to have so many parents in attendance at the Year 1 and 2 Athletic Events this week. Your participation helped to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere for the children to demonstrate their skills.

This morning the children attended the athletics day assembly in which we presented a certificate of participation to all children and also recognised some of the high achievers on the day.

The children also watched a highlight video of the day which can be found on qoodle or by clicking this link.

The children finished the morning with a special pokemon hunt activity.

We look forward to hosting you again at next years event and in the meantime we hope the children put their skills into action in lots of physical and sporting activities.

Have a great weekend,

Luke Schroder
