Year 5 Market Day
This week the Year 5 students were quite entrepreneurial and had a very successful Market Day in the school hall. There was a real buzz of excitement during the Market Day and the Year 3 and Year 4 customers enjoyed the range of QBS designed and hand-made products. The Year 5 students worked in business teams and their understanding of marketing and customer service was impressive. I sense we have some future business leaders in Year 5. Well done to our talented students.
Cross Country Race
Best of luck to our sixty QBS students racing at KGV School tomorrow in the ESF Cross Country Race. Mr Schroder and Mr Atkinson have been working with the students for many weeks to support their preparation for distance running. It is a challenging pursuit and I have been proud to see many students trying their hardest to improve the endurance and fitness each week. Unfortunately I will not be able to make the race at KGV on Saturday morning. I look forward to hearing about the race from QBS students next week.
Communication
At QBS our door is always open to parents and we welcome contact about your child and school life. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher, specialist teachers, myself or members of the school’s leadership team if you need any assistance with matters related to your child.

Stories From Around The World
Exciting news! Each Thursday lunchtime, we will be having story time for our Y1 and Y2 students in the Learning Centre. The stories will be read in a different language each week. Last year, our younger students loved this weekly session and enjoyed hearing their favourite stories in a variety of languages. The message we want the students to get is that we value their Mother Tongue.
Would you like to come to school from time to time to read a story to our youngest students? Please email me to get involved in our Mother Tongue Story time.

Coffee Morning on Wednesday 27th January 8.30 to 9.30
The Importance of our Mother Tongue
I would like to invite you to our next coffee morning which will focus on the value of our mother tongue language. This session will provide a chance for us to share why developing our home language is crucial. I will also share how our QBS parent community can support our students in their home language both at home and at school.
Of course, there will be time to have a coffee and a chat too!
Please come along to the amphitheatre in the Learning Centre
